At the Renand Foundation, we believe that education is the cornerstone of change. In Haiti, where public education isn't free and the average daily income is less than two dollars, access to schooling is a distant dream for many children.
That's why we focus relentlessly on providing education to the most vulnerable children. Thanks to the generous monthly donations from hundreds of supporters, we cover tuition fees, textbooks, supplies, and uniforms for children who would otherwise miss out on an education.
Our two schools serve over 700 of Haiti’s poorest children, offering them a classroom environment staffed with dedicated teachers, administrators, and tutors. Unlike many rural schools where classes are taught solely in Creole, our students also learn in English and French, opening doors to broader opportunities in the future. Through our lunch program, each child receives a nutritious meal—a lifeline for many who would otherwise go hungry.
Additionally, we support three after-school programs where children receive tutoring and study assistance, often the only place they can complete homework safely and with access to electricity.
The Renand Foundation also supports students wishing to pursue higher education by covering their tuition and providing necessary uniforms. We take pride in our numerous graduates, but our ambition is to impact even more lives.
Education program highlights:
-
Chapman Wilson Academy (formerly EMCBB School):
In Haiti, the schoolyard is not just for play; it's the heart of student life, from morning flag ceremonies to recess activities. Previously, our academy’s playground was a muddy field unusable during rainy seasons. This year, thanks to your support, we paved it with concrete, providing a safe and clean space for children to gather and play.
Furthermore, we replaced roofs in three classrooms, renovated the kitchen, enhanced school security with a block fence and metal gate, installed a solar power system, and refurbished the entire school building. This school now stands as one of the few electrified buildings in its village, enabling us to equip classrooms with fans and plan for future educational enhancements like computers and televisions.
-
Computer room:
Our Monchil center now boasts a new computer room equipped with fifteen laptops, staffed by a dedicated instructor and tailored curriculum preparing elementary school graduates for high school.
-
Nutrition program:
For many children in Haiti, a meal is a luxury. At our schools and centers, we proudly served over 50,000 nutritious meals and 10,000 drinks this year alone, often the only sustenance children receive all day. We source all food locally, supporting the community's economy.
